Weekend of Jan 24- 25 2009
Saturday, Jan 24: We were out the whole day on Saturday. We had lunch at Rockwell's Pepper Lunch which we planned earlier that week, since Sherwin wanted me to try the Beef Pepper Rice. I say, it is really good! We also wanted Trisha to see the new Kids' area on the 3rd floor, but she didn't really get too excited about it since there's nothing much that she can do there.
Then before heading home, we went to SM Makati to look for the living room table we wanted to replace the computer table with. We are giving the computer to Adrian, together with the computer table, since we rarely use it anyway.
Trisha was wearing her Gingersnaps lilac jumpsuit with her Gap gold-silver flats.
Sunday, Jan 25: We headed to Greenbelt Recipes for lunch to celebrate the Chinese New Year. We had the usual order of Gising-gising, deep fried tilapia, general's chicken & beef stew. Then after, just walked around Greenbelt 5 to check on the shops newly opened in that area.
I am hoping to go back to purchase the Melissa shoes I asked Len for my birthday :). Maybe this weekend or next. I will post a photo of it as soon as I have it.
Trisha was wearing her pink top, skinny jeans, gold-silver flats & vintage sunshades, all from Gap.
Before heading to lunch, we passed by T at Greenbelt 3 and we saw this nice bag for Trisha. She immediately liked it & transferred all her stuff from her floral bag (her only hand bag) and was so ready to walk out of the shop. So there, Mommy had to purchase it :). I was tempted to get the Mommy version of this bag for myself, but since it is transparent, I figured I wouldn't be able to use it much so I had to pass it up.
I am indeed a SNAKE :)
For my friends who really, deeply, know me, they can confirm that what this says is so true about me :).
Chinese Zodiac - Snake
Personality
Occupying the 6th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Snake symbolizes such character traits as intelligence (Tet: uhuh), gracefulness (Tet: yeah) and materialism (Tet: hahaha). When it comes to decision-making, Snakes are extremely analytical and as a result, they don’t jump into situations. They are effective at getting the things they want, even if it means they have to scheme and plot along the way (Tet: hahaha, yeah yeah).
Snakes are very materialistic creatures, preferring to surround themselves with the finest that life has to offer. This is especially evident in the home, where luxurious furnishings and surroundings help Snakes seek the peace they need in order to thrive. (Tet: hmm, this justifies my love for nice things, they help me seek the peace i need in order to thrive. should be acceptable!)
Health
Snakes prefer living a life of calmness, preferring quietness over noise and a manageable workload rather than a schedule that’s overly-booked. Snakes become easily stressed when their lives aren’t peaceful or in order. Too much of this way of life can shorten a snake’s life! (Tet: So true!)
Career
Snakes do work very hard, but they have a tendency to be job-hoppers as they become easily bored (Tet: hahahaha, again, perfect description of myself!). Their somewhat laid-back attitude causes them to be mistakenly categorized as slackers, but nothing could be further from the truth! Snakes are very creative and extremely diligent. They’re excellent problem-solvers and thrive under tight deadlines. Good career choices for Snakes include: scientist, analyst, investigator, painter, potter, jeweler, astrologer, magician, dietician, and sociologist (Tet: seems like I am on the right career track).
Relationships
Snakes are excellent seducers so they never have trouble attracting others (Tet: hm, not too confident about this one though. but if you say so! haha). However, they’ll be the ones to decide when a relationship has potential and when it does not. Once they’ve chosen a partner, a Snake’s insecure side will begin to show through. Snakes guards their chosen partners much like a prized possessions, becoming jealous and even obsessive (Tet: Hahaha). Snakes prefer to keep their feelings to themselves. It’s important to never betray a Snake’s trust as a betrayed snake will make it a goal to get even some day! (Tet: Yes! so be warned!)

My First No Rice Lunch Day
I have always wanted to cut my rice intake. Easier said than done! I was successful in cutting my rice for each meal to half-cup since around December. Well, I cheated on some days - especially when we have inihaw na Bangus and taba ng Talangka. Hm, and during my almost 2 weeks Christmas holiday in Baguio - I did not measure my rice at all! And that's it, I did not progress from there. Until today :).
During lunch, one of my BFFs, who's an expert in this No Rice Diet, convinced me to skip my rice and just have the Hubad na Lumpia, a portion of inihaw ng Bangus, banana for dessert and just plain water instead of my usual Pulpy Minute Maid drink. I was worried I would faint of hunger. But, yey! I survived the afternoon without my usual afternoon snack. I had another banana instead before heading home. But while waiting for dinner, I cheated... with 1 Krispy Kreme donut & 1 glass of iced tea. I was sooo hungry. But still! I didn't have rice for lunch! Haha.
I would really love to eat healthier this year. I think sticking with this friend will help me :). She has so much self control with her food intake & regular exercise! I did ask her to drag me to the gym either lunch time or in the afternoon - half an hour in the treadmill will surely help me lose that weight I have been trying to get rid off for more than 2 years now. And I hope we could be lunchmates until I get used to the no rice diet.
Good luck to me! And may Jok have the patience to help me :). Love yah friend!

Hon + Daddy = Sherwin Lim :)
Not only am I blessed with a loving family with my mom, sisters (Len & Cai) and balong (little brother Adrian). I am also blessed with a loving husband.
I think after almost 3 years of being together, we've finally found our balance. We understand each other more & we're more secure with our marriage.

I never imagined how Sherwin would be as a father. I never thought he would have the patience to change nappies, to feed, to bathe, to run around chasing Trisha. He exceeds my expectations :). He is a very good father.
Thanks hon. Here's to the New Year coming our way! ;*

random thoughts today
I have been too lazy to blog lately. Whenever I am online, I spend most of my time surfing the net, reading through my favorite blogs and chatting with family & friends.
I have been busy lately, both at work and at home. I am so looking forward to my Christmas break where I would get to spend time with my family in Baguio. I need the rest. I need the stress free environment. And I would ENSURE that it's really stress free. I just want to stay home - eat & sleep. I have a project going live first working day of January and so I expect work during the break. But at least I will be doing it from home.
Our weekends have been crazy lately, we have been out & about almost everywhere. We make sure we bring Trisha out on weekends since she's stuck at home the whole week when we're at work. There was no weekend that we spent the whole day at home. To think, we haven't even done our Christmas shopping yet. We plan to buy our gifts this weekend. I have several pieces for Cai & Mom already and I have crossed out some people from our list, but bulk of it, we have to finish off this weekend and the weekend after before we go home to Baguio for the holidays.
I have so much to do in my life. I am excited to end this year and begin the new one. New start. Fresh one. Can't wait. There are so many things to look forward to as I end this year.
Next year - I hope to blog more, lose weight, find a physical activity to help me lose that weight (dancing maybe?), eat healthier, drink more water, be more organized - both at home and at work, make use of my time more efficiently, reconnect with my truest friends. I hope to be a better person next year.

Sadness
Strange. I am sad today. I miss my true friends. I realized I only have a few of them. Don't get me wrong, I have tons of friends, but very few with THE deep roots. I have learned to let go of people that just drain the life out of me. There are tons of them. I have learned to filter the people I invest time and emotions on. I am sad.
The Printed Dress
Here's another dress of Trisha I got from Marissa of Katricewear. This was originally longer, I just had it cut to this length. With her height, I prefer Trisha wearing this length (doesn't go below the knee) so she doesn't look too short.

She wore this today, during the christening of her bestfriend's baby sister. A lot of people noticed her dress and asked where we got it from. Us, "big girls", liked it a lot *grins*.

Trisha's 2nd Birthday
We celebrated Trisha's 2nd birthday at Jollibee McKinley with a Jollitown theme.
Here's her invitation which I did myself.

Got her snow white gown from Prim of http://babyfashionistas.multiply.com/.
In the middle of the party, I changed her back to her boyfriend shirt which I got from Marissa of http://katricewear.multiply.com/

You can view all our pictures at http://tetdelapaz.multiply.com/photos. Her birthday albums are open for everyone to view for a limited time only. If you can't see the albums anymore, do drop me a note so I can open it up for you :).

Trisha's Bday Wish List
Finally, I was able to find time to update this post.
Just to briefly explain why we decided to put up a list for Trisha's 2nd bday. She received too many toys during her 1st birthday. A lot of them she only played with briefly. Some of them she didn't even open at all. So now, we want her to receive toys that she's interested in. Or we can buy her the toys she wants with the GCs you will be giving us in case you prefer that ;D.
I had to post the pics at Multiply, it was easier for me to upload the pics there. Please click the link below to redirect you to the pictures.

More Scrap Pages
Here are more experimental pages. I only did this in scrapblog as I have yet to install my adobe photoshop.
This first one I created from a template in scrapblog, I just moved the elements around, added and deleted some that were defaulted in the template.

This second page was created from scratch :). I am happy with this. Yey, I think I am improving!
